Catherine Clinton

Dr. Catherine Clinton is the Denman Professor of American History at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her academic focus encompasses various areas within American History, such as the history of the South, the American Civil War, American women, and African American history. Clinton's vast knowledge and expertise have been sought by several prestigious institutions, such as Harvard University, Brandeis University, and The Citadel, where she has held various academic positions.

Clinton has contributed significantly to the academic world by authoring, editing, co-authoring, or co-editing more than twenty-five books. Demonstrating a penchant for sharing historical narratives beyond traditional academic circles, she is a member of the Screen Writers Guild and has written for the History Channel. Clinton's influence extends to the realm of film and television as she has served as an advisor on multiple documentaries, including "Brother, Outsider: The life of Bayard Rustin" and "Rebel: Loreta Velasquez, Civil War Soldier and Spy."

Her commitment to the preservation and dissemination of history is further evidenced by her service on the scholarly advisory board of Ford's Theatre and the Lincoln Cottage.
