Sam Heughan Biography
Sam Heughan is an accomplished Scottish stage and screen actor, producer and writer, best known for his leading roles in Starz TV Series "Outlander" (2014-2025), "A Princess for Christmas" (2011), and "A Very British Sex Scandal" (2007).
Heughan has continued to appear in TV and film, including "The Spy Who Dumped Me" (2018), "Adventure Show" (2018), "SAS: Red Notice" (2020), and "Bloodshot" (2020).
He attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) located in Glasgow, Scotland, and is an active patron of Youth Theatre Arts Scotland and Bloodwise (formerly Leukemia and Lymphoma Research) as President of Bloodwise Scotland (2015).
Heughan has received two honorary doctorates, the first "in recognition for his outstanding contribution to acting and charitable endeavors" from the University of Stirling in June 2019, and again in July 2019 in recognition of his artistic success and his charitable work by the University of Glasgow.
