Afsaneh Beschloss

Afsaneh M. Beschloss is founder and CEO of RockCreek, a leading global investment firm that applies cutting-edge technology and innovation to investments. Prior to RockCreek, she served as Managing Director and Partner at the Carlyle Group. As the World Bank's Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer, she led the Bank's investments, balance sheet management, ratings, borrowings, and innovations in financial products. Previously, she led the World Bank’s investments and policy work for renewable energy, power, and infrastructure, as well as pioneering investments in wind and solar energy, and worked in corporate finance at JP Morgan.

Beschloss has advised governments, central banks, and regulatory agencies on global public policy and financial policy. She serves on the board of trustees of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Rockefeller Foundation, National Geographic and Georgetown University, and chairs the PBS Foundation.

Beschloss was recognized by Carnegie Corporation in their "Great Immigrants, Great Americans 2020" list; received the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Award and the Institutional Investor Lifetime Achievement Award; and been listed among the “Most Powerful Women in Banking” by American Banker. She is the co-author of "The Economics of Natural Gas" and has written numerous journal articles on innovations in finance, energy economics, and renewable energy investing.

She holds a Master of Philosophy degree with honors in economics from the University of Oxford, where Beschloss taught international trade and economic development.
