Alabama is a country-rock band from Fort Payne, Alabama. The iconic Southern rock band formed in 1969 and originally used the name Wildcountry until they switched to their current name in 1977. The current lineup consists of Randy Owen (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Teddy Gentry (bass, backing vocals), Jeff Cook (lead guitar, fiddle, keyboards, lead vocals) and Mike Shawcross (drums).
Between 1980 and 2011, Alabama had 33 #1 singles on Billboard's Hot Country chart. They are the most successful band in country music history, having sold more than 75 million records.
