Alana Stewart

Alana Stewart is president of the Farrah Fawcett Foundation to support cancer research, the author of the New York Times best-selling My Journey with Farrah: A Story of Life, Love, and Friendship (published by William Morrow with portions of the author's proceeds from the book donated to The Farrah Fawcett Foundation), and the producer of the Emmy-nominated documentary Farrah's Story. An accomplished actress and television personality, Stewart has appeared on NBC's Today Show, CNN's Larry King Live, ABC's The View and Nightline, Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor and Fox and Friends, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Extra, and has been profiled in People magazine.

She is a sought-after keynote speaker in connection to her fight against cancer, and popular on the Alanon circuit discussing family and addictions. Stewart also speaks about her experience with chronic fatigue syndrome, women and aging, and she shares her myriad stories as an actress and former model who has been working in Hollywood for almost four decades.

Friends for 30 years, Stewart and Fawcett became an essential part of each other's lives after their first meeting at a dinner party during the 1970s. In that time, they raised their families, supported each other through the trials of Hollywood life, and kept in touch no matter what. Everything changed in October 2006, when Stewart learned of Fawcett's cancer diagnosis. Emotional, yet resolute, Fawcett was determined to fight and Stewart was determined to help her. Together they were relentless in their pursuit of a cure, traveling around the country and the world as they sought every mainstream, alternative, and experimental therapy available. Stewart spent the better part of the next three years by her friend's side as they struggled hand-in-hand with the unknown.

Stewart has enjoyed a robust career as a model, actress, writer, and television personality. A native Texan, she began her career in New York as a Ford Model, which led to an acting career. She has appeared on numerous television shows including The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, The Bionic Woman, The Fall Guy, Hart to Hart, and on the Lonesome Dove series. One of her most well known projects was co-hosting The George and Alana Show with ex-husband George Hamilton. Most recently, Stewart joined the reality TV hall of fame on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and in the VH-1 hit Meet the Hamiltons. Her film credits include Where the Boys Are, Jonatham Demme's Swing Shift, and the indie films Between, American Intellectuals, Dangerous Company, and most recently, Delivered, which will be released during 2010.

Stewart is also an accomplished stage actress, having appeared in several productions at Chicago's famed Drury Lane Theatre and at Los Angeles' The Court. At The Court, she starred as Sissy in Come Back to the Five and Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean and C-Cup, a comedy about a married breast cancer survivor, as well as the romantic comedy Who Wants Fame?. Stewart has also co-written screenplays with Grammy Award-winning lyricist Carol Bayer Sager.

Stewart reached back to her modeling roots in 2001 when she was named celebrity spokesperson for the More Magazine 40 Model Search. Through the contest she, More magazine, and Wilhelmina Models celebrated that beauty is not an age, it is an attitude.

Stewart has three children, Ashley Hamilton, with former husband George Hamilton, and Kimberly and Sean Stewart, with former husband, Rod Stewart. She lives in Los Angeles.
