Alex Thomopoulos

Alex Thomopoulos is a stand-up comic, chef, and tv food personality. She is a television host and the daughter of Cristina Ferrare, a former model and television host, and Anthony Thomopoulos, a television and film executive.

Initially pursuing a career in stand-up comedy, Alex studied improvisation at institutions such as The Second City Hollywood, The Groundlings, and Upright Citizens Brigade. After two years in comedy, she discovered a passion for cooking and enrolled in the International Culinary School at the Art Institute.

Alex was diagnosed with celiac disease, which led her to specialize in gluten-free cooking. She began her culinary career as a private chef and caterer in Los Angeles. Her expertise in gluten-free cuisine gained recognition through hosting roles on YouTube's HUNGRY channel, including "Bites & Booze: Gluten-Free" and "Gluten-Free with Alex T."

In 2017, Alex became the head chef at Great White, a café in Venice Beach, California, where she crafted a balanced menu featuring both indulgent and healthy options. She later joined the Emmy-nominated PBS series "Moveable Feast with Relish" as a host, collaborating with chefs and food artisans to create feasts using seasonal and regional ingredients.

Beyond her culinary endeavors, Alex continues to perform stand-up comedy and contributes to various media outlets, sharing her passion for food and humor. Her unique blend of culinary skills and comedic talent has made her a distinctive figure in the culinary world.
