Alexander Tsiaras

Alexander Tsiaras is the Founder, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of TheVisualMD.com. His groundbreaking work in the field of medical visualization began in 1972 at the age of 19 when he co-authored "Death Rituals of Rural Greece". Over the years, he has authored several influential works including "Conception to Birth", "Architecture and Design of Man and Woman", and the "InVision Guides to Healthy Heart, Sexual Health, and Life Blood". His innovative visual contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards such as the World Press Award, Webby, and the Satava Award.

Tsiaras' notable achievements in technology began with his development of specialized lenses used in medical photography, including those for the first images of human eggs in in vitro fertilization and fetal images outside the amniotic sack featured in Life Magazine. Transitioning to computer-generated imaging in 1989, he mastered programming languages to create virtual surgery tools with support from NASA funding. His expertise led to adjunct professorships at both Brown and Yale University Medical Schools.

In addition to his academic and technological contributions, Tsiaras has been a prominent speaker at many prestigious conferences including TED, TEDMED, and the Google Health Conference "ThinkHealth". He has also shared stages with notable figures like Stephen Hawking at the MIT Media Lab.
