Alexis consults for businesses on rebranding, strategy and UX. A self-styled 'pencil for hire' she runs GraphiteMind.com creating sketchnotes for tech talks and meetings to illustrate complex meaning via metaphor.

Alexis received her degree in Anthropology from the University of Chicago, but after spending too many hours in the dark caverns of The Field Museum of Natural History and the blinding summer sun of archaeological digs, she turned her attention from the analysis of dead cultures to the aid of the living.

After acquiring a degree in Advertising/PR, Alexis shifted to human factors and UX research, helping companies understand the cultural interpretation and use of their products. She traversed the globe a few times over to provide insight on the meaning of health/wellness, the position of water in Asian vs European cultures and how package design can be equated to product worth.

Alexis is the Founder and CEO of TyK [Thought You Knew] (NFP pending) promoting women's confidence in male dominated industries such as technology and cycling She runs #LadiesHackNight, "The Pinup Project" and provides mentoring and tech teaching in women-only environments.
