Alicia Quarles joined E! from the Associated Press where she was the Global Entertainment and Lifestyles Editor, overseeing a staff of more than 60 people, as well as anchoring their live coverage of the Oscars and Grammys. Quarles has traveled the globe for sit-down interviews with some of pop culture's most fascinating names and was also an integral part in covering President Obama's inauguration, the Supreme Court confirmation hearings of Sonia Sotomayor, and the death of Michael Jackson and its aftermath. In addition to her duties at E!, Quarles is a regular on the Today Show and MSNBC.
She has had nothing short of a meteoric rise since she graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California. After graduation, she accepted a position with Associated Press Television as an entertainment reporter and producer in Los Angeles. While there, she covered major events such as the Grammys, Academy Awards, Billboard Awards, the death of President Reagan, and the Golden Globes, just to name a few.
