Alicia Witt

Alicia Witt began her career as an actress, pianist, and singer-songwriter. Witt was recognized for her acting talent by director David Lynch at a young age and gained fame through her roles in "Dune" and "Twin Peaks." She also made a significant impact on the small screen, appearing in popular series such as "The Sopranos," "Friday Night Lights," and "Orange Is the New Black." She received the Special Jury Recognition Award at the Sundance Film Festival for her role in "Fun" and has since starred in a variety of films, including "Vanilla Sky" and "I Care A Lot."

In addition to her acting career, Witt is a professional singer-songwriter and pianist. She started taking piano lessons at a young age and competed nationally, later showcasing her skills at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel restaurant in the 1990s. Witt released her first EP, "Witness," in August 2023, and her book, "Small Changes: A Rules-Free Guide to Add More Plant-Based Foods, Peace & Power to Your Life," was published in October 2021. Witt's music career has been acknowledged by NPR and Entertainment Weekly, and she has appeared in nine annual Hallmark Christmas films since 2013, even serving as the executive producer, story writer, and contributor of two original songs for "Christmas Tree Lane."

Witt has faced personal challenges, including a battle with breast cancer in 2021, from which she has been cancer-free since 2022. Despite these obstacles, Witt continues to work in the entertainment industry, reappearing as Gersten Hayward in the 2017 revival of "Twin Peaks," competing in the ninth season of "The Masked Singer" as "Dandelion" in 2023, and featured in the 2024 horror film "Longlegs." She has also been actively involved in stage productions, making her debut in 2001 in Robbie Fox's musical "The Gift" and performing in Neil LaBute's play "Reasons to Be Pretty" alongside Amber Tamblyn.
