Alyssa Naeher

Alyssa Naeher's journey into the world of professional soccer started with her playing for various teams such as the Boston Breakers, Turbine Potsdam, and now, the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). In 2014, her exceptional goalkeeping skills earned her the title of NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year. Furthermore, Naeher made NWSL history by becoming the first goalkeeper with 50 wins for a single club. She has repeatedly been recognized for her performance, including being named Player of the Week and Player of the Month in the NWSL.

Naeher's involvement in the sport extends to the international level, representing the United States in multiple FIFA Women's World Cup tournaments, including the 2015, 2019, and 2023 editions. As the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. team at the FIFA World Cup in France in 2019, she played an instrumental role in the team's successful run by recording three consecutive shutouts in the group stage and making key saves in the knockout rounds. Naeher's performance helped the United States win the tournament, an accomplishment that was commemorated with a ticker tape parade in New York City and recognition from President Barack Obama at the White House.
