AT age of 10, Amanda was discovered at a comedy showcase held by Laugh Factory, where producers signed her to join the cast of Nickelodeon's variety comedy show, "All That," where she was a cast member for three years. Nickelodeon then offered her to have her own variety sketch show, "The Amanda Show," in 1999.
Previously had been the guest panelist in "Figure It Out", she made a guest appearance in "The Drew Carey Show" in 2001, then ventured into the big screen by starring in "The Big Fat Liar" alongside Frankie Muniz in 2002. Shortly thereafter, she had secured a role in "What I Like About You", a Warner Bros TV production of comedy series. She has also starred in several films, including "What a Girl Wants," "She's the Man," "Hairspray," "Sydney White," and "Easy A".
In 2012, Bynes announced that she was retiring from acting. After several years of dealing with her drug habits in the public eye, Bynes sought help and has gone through rehabilitation programs. She is currently a student at FIDM, engaged to her fiance, Paul Micheal, and working on a music career. Her latest track, "Diamonds," features Bynes rapping.
