Ambassador Ron Prosor Biography
Ron Prosor served as Israel’s permanent representative to the UN, where he was notably the vice president of the UN’s 67th General Assembly during 2012 and 2013. Before this, Prosor was Israel’s ambassador to the United Kingdom and held the position of director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His diplomatic career also includes significant roles in Washington, London, and Bonn. He played a key role in establishing diplomatic relations behind the Iron Curtain following the fall of the Berlin Wall.
From 1998 to 2002, he was minister-counselor for political affairs at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC. Earlier in his career, Prosor served as a major in the Israeli Defense Forces, where he gained extensive experience in military and defense issues, contributing to his expertise in international relations.
