AmirAli Talasaz, Ph.D., an entrepreneur in the rare genomics and clinical diagnostics fields, is the co-founder and co-CEO of Guardant Health, a leading precision oncology company.
Prior to founding Guardant, Dr. Talasaz held various positions at Illumina, including Senior Director of Diagnostics Research, where he led the efforts for emerging clinical applications of next-generation genomic analysis. Earlier, Dr. Talasaz founded Auriphex Biosciences, Inc., which focused on purification and genetic analysis of circulating tumor cells for cancer management -- technology which was later acquired by lllumina.
During his academic years, Dr. Talasaz led the Technology Development group at Stanford Genome Technology Center. He received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering, M.S. degree in electrical engineering, and M.S. degree in management science and engineering from Stanford University.
