Amy Brooks

Amy Brooks is the NBA's first-ever President, New Business Ventures. In this role, Brooks is charged with identifying new domestic and global revenue-generating business opportunities for the NBA. Under her leadership, the New Business Ventures group seeks out opportunities to grow basketball around the world and promote health, fitness and entertainment via investment, partnerships and the creation of new entities.

Since beginning her career at the NBA in 2005, Brooks has held a variety of roles that have advanced and grown all areas of the business. Previously, she was President, Team Marketing & Business Operations and Chief Innovation Officer where she directed an in-house consulting group that helped NBA teams grow and improve all aspects of their business, including ticket and partnership sales, marketing, arena operations and analytics. She also oversaw several of the league’s functions, including corporate strategy, innovation, data & analytics, consumer & media insights and international operations. Her leadership helped the NBA set new all-time attendance records and launch growth initiatives such as the Jersey Patch Sponsorship Program, In-Season Tournament, Play-In Tournament and the Basketball Africa League. She also helped form NBA Investments, the league’s equity investment arm.

Prior to joining the NBA, Brooks worked for Bain & Company, a global management consulting firm. Previously, she was a product manager at Sun Microsystems. Brooks currently serves on the board of directors for Block and Positive Coaching Alliance and is a member of the Stanford University Board of Trustees. She has also been recognized by SportsBusiness Journal (Forty Under 40) and Forbes (Most Powerful Women in Sports).

Brooks received her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She also holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, where she was a member of the women’s basketball team that won three conference championships and went to the NCAA Final Four.
