Prior to founding G9, Amy Griffin worked at Sports Illustrated as a Sports Marketing and Olympic Manager. Beginning in 2011, Griffin leveraged her operational and branding experience to both invest in and work alongside early-stage companies. In 2018, she formalized the portfolio into G9 Ventures.
In addition to her work at G9, Griffin currently serves on the Board of Directors of Bumble, Spanx, and Gagosian, in addition to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Women’s Board of the Boys Club of New York. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the One Love Foundation and has held board positions at a number of organizations, including KIPP, The Virginia Athletics Foundation, The Spence School, and The Mead Foundation.
Griffin graduated with a BA in English from the University of Virginia where she was a student-athlete on the women’s volleyball team for four years. She lives in New York City with her husband John and their four children. Griffin is an avid athlete who completed the Hawaii Ironman in 2017. She is a relentless cheerleader of her children, passionate for women’s rights, and is constantly searching for an authentic TexMex burrito in New York City.
