Andrew Waldeck

Andy works with health care, finance and media companies to develop innovation strategies that counter disruptive forces that threaten to reshape these industries. He has helped these companies create innovative responses to protect and extend existing businesses while also developing new business models designed to capture additional growth opportunities. He has also played a leadership role in helping many of these companies establish and implement the processes and structure to make innovation a repeatable organizational discipline. In addition to his consulting work, Andy is also a frequent speaker on the topics of innovation and growth. His articles on innovation and strategy include “The New M&A Playbook, http://www.innosight.com/innovation-resources/the-new-ma-playbook.cfm” appearing in the March 2011 issue of Harvard Business Review, coauthored with Innosight founder Clayton Christensen. Andy’s experience in innovation and growth stems from his past work with early-stage growth companies as both an investment banker and venture capitalist. Prior to joining Innosight, Andy was a Managing Director at the investment bank C.E. Unterberg, Towbin, where he was responsible for advising and financing innovative companies in the high tech and business services industries. In total, Andy has completed over 50 financial and strategic transactions totaling over $5B in transaction value. Most recently, Andy was a Vice President at GrandBanks Capital, an early stage IT-focused venture capital fund. At GrandBanks Capital, Andy helped identify and evaluate new investment opportunities in high-growth sectors of the wireless, software, and services industries. Andy received a B.A. in Business Economics from Brown University and a M.B.A with Distinction from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where he was a Tuck Scholar.
