Andy Goodman

Andy Goodman is an internationally recognized author, speaker, and consultant specializing in public interest communications. Along with "Storytelling as Best Practice," he has authored "Why Bad Ads Happen to Good Causes" and "Why Bad Presentations Happen to Good Causes." Goodman also publishes a monthly journal, free-range thinking, to share best practices in the field.

Goodman is celebrated for his impactful speeches and workshops on storytelling, presenting, and strategic communications. He has delivered presentations at prestigious institutions such as Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, the Woodrow Wilson School of Public Affairs at Princeton, and the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. Additionally, he has conducted over 500 storytelling workshops worldwide for various organizations, including nonprofits, foundations, government agencies, and educational institutions. Goodman has also been invited to speak internationally, working with leaders of First Nations tribes in British Columbia and forest conservation advocates in Thailand.

In 2008, he co-founded The Goodman Center with the aim to enhance the capabilities of nonprofits, foundations, and government agencies through online classes and onsite workshops. Goodman also serves on the advisory board of the Institute for Human Caring and has developed communications curriculum for the College for Social Innovation in Boston and for the African Leadership University in Mauritius. When not engaged in his professional work, Goodman advises organizations such as Civic Ventures and has served on the teaching faculty of former Vice President Al Gore’s Climate Project in 2007 and 2012.
