Angela Russo-Otstot

Angela Russo-Otstot is a screenwriter, actress and President of Creative at her siblings' production company AGBO. She is best known for her work on Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Welcome to Collinwood (2002) and V (2009).

Russo-Otstot attended Syracuse University to study acting, with a focus on script analysis and theory. After graduating from Syracuse University she did a two-year intensive acting program at the William Esper studio. She was granted an honorary Doctor of Art degree from the Cleveland Institute of Art and served as an Adjunct Professor at the school teaching screenwriting. Russo-Otstot began her writing career when she sold a pilot to HBO at the age of 25, and went on to write for various television dramas that include FX’s "The Shield" and ABC’s "V".

Beginning as assistant on her brothers' Anthony and Joe Russo's crime comedy Welcome to Collinwood in 2002, Russo-Otstot has been involved in different capacities with her brothers' films over the years. She now serves now as the President of Creative at the Russo siblings' production company AGBO, managing a team of executives who work collaboratively to develop innovative material and champion new creative voices. She leads creative development of all AGBO film and television content, as well as projects devoted to other forms of media (e.g.,. audio, gaming, etc.). Russo-Otstot is also a writer and producer on Amazon’s international spy thriller series Citadel and recently served as Executive Producer on IFC’s Sundance hit Relic. Russo-Otstot and Jessica Goldberg co-wrote Cherry, starring Tom Holland as a college dropout who serves as a medic in Iraq and ends up an opioid-addicted bank robber when his tour is over.

A native Clevelander, she spent a decade in Los Angeles working as a writer-producer for television and film. She has been an active member of the Writers' Guild of America West for more than 10 years. Her philanthropic endeavors include co-founding The New Foundation For Children, a nonprofit organization that supports Northeast Ohio preschoolers and their parents and teachers.
