Anne Moss Rogers Biography
Anne Moss Rogers is a prominent figure in mental health and suicide prevention, drawing from deep personal loss to educate and support others. After her 20-year-old son Charles died by suicide in 2015, she launched the blog “Emotionally Naked,” which has reached millions. This blog began as a platform to cope and eventually grew into a significant educational tool, discussed in her TEDx talk titled "Can a Blog Save Lives?"
She has authored the award-winning memoir “Diary of a Broken Mind” and co-authored “Emotionally Naked: A Teacher’s Guide to Preventing Suicide and Recognizing Students at Risk” with Dr. Kimberly O’Brien. Her expertise is recognized nationally, evidenced by her features in the New York Times and her unprecedented invitation to speak at the National Institute of Mental Health as the first non-clinician discussing youth suicide.
Rogers is a certified suicide prevention trainer and actively involved in various advocacy roles, including as a board member of NAMI Virginia. Residing in Richmond, VA with her husband, Rogers continues to impact lives through her work, while her son Richard pursues a filmmaking career in LA.
