Anthony Anderson

Anthony Anderson is an actor, producer, comedian, writer, and game show host. He gained widespread recognition for his role as Andre “Dre” Johnson in the ABC sitcom "Black-ish," which aired from 2014 to 2022. For his performance, Anderson earned seven consecutive Emmy nominations for “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series” and was also nominated for two Golden Globes and three Critics Choice Awards. He not only starred in but also served as the executive producer of the series, contributing to its success and the development of spin-offs "Grown-ish" on Freeform and "Mixed-ish" on ABC, where he also took on the role of executive producer.

In addition to his work on television, Anderson has a robust film career with roles in major films such as "Transformers," "The Departed," and "The Big Year." His performance in "The Departed" was part of an ensemble that received accolades including the Central Ohio Film Critics Association Best Ensemble and the Satellite Award for Best Ensemble in a Motion Picture. Recently, he starred in and executive produced the Netflix film "Beats."

Anderson continues to engage audiences as the host of "To Tell the Truth," now in its eighth season on ABC, and has diverse interests in other TV genres including culinary shows. He has hosted "Eating America with Anthony Anderson" and "Carnival Cravings with Anthony Anderson" on the Food Network. His voice acting talent was showcased in 2023 when he reprised the character Ray Ray in an episode of the animated series "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder."

Off-screen, Anderson is committed to charitable efforts and advocacy, particularly through his annual Anthony Anderson Celebrity Golf Classic. He is actively involved in raising awareness about mental illness and combating related stigma, and also focuses on supporting and educating others about diabetes, a condition he personally manages.
