Anton Handal

Anton N. Handal is the partner of Greenspoon Marder’s Intellectual Property and Litigation practice groups. With over 35 years of multijurisdictional litigation experience Mr. Handal has been first-chair in over 100 trials, litigated International Trade Commission Section 337 actions, represented clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 17 Inter Partes Review proceedings and has been lead counsel in over 150 patent litigation matters. He has achieved a $93,000,000 judgment for clients in a highly-charged shareholder derivative case between stakeholders of an African Telecom, was responsible for several successful PTAB outcomes, and has recovered millions of dollars for patent owner clients.

Mr. Handal advises business clients on a variety of business and intellectual property licensing transactions. He has negotiated and documented business transactions of up to $130,000,000. As former CEO of a start-up technology company, he has secured patents, directed financial transactions, negotiated contracts, raised capital and handled communications with shareholder/investors.

Mr. Handal has an active off-shore practice that includes advising and representing international companies on a variety of issues that range from doing business in the U.S. to defending off-shore clients in U.S. Court. He serves the needs of Asia Pacific companies and individuals and has represented several Asian publicly traded companies. He has an extensive network of affiliates throughout Asia to further the needs of his Domestic US clients that seek to do business overseas.

Mr. Handal has been a featured speaker at various webinars and conferences various topics: “Modern Trends in IP Litigation,” “From Decision to Practice” and “Building a Right Platform: Key Legal Issues of the U.S. Beauty Industry.” He is a certified CLE lecturer in California and Florida on patent litigation topics; is a regular author a contributor on patent litigation topics; and responsible for several precedent setting court decisions in California and at the Court of Appeal for the Federal Circuit.
