Antonio Nieto-Rodriguez

Antonio Nieto-Rodriguez is a Spanish author, economist, and global champion of project management. Having obtained an MBA from London Business School and Insead's International Director Program, he has transformed project management into one of the central issues on every CEO’s 2030 agenda. He is a visionary creator of concepts like the Hierarchy of Purpose featured by Harvard Business Review.

A recognized authority on project management and strategy implementation, Nieto-Rodriguez's research and global impact in modern management have been honored by Thinkers50 with the prestigious award "Ideas into Practice," and he is ranked #17 in the global gurus Top 30 list. He is part of Marshall Goldsmith 100 coaches. Nieto-Rodriguez was the global Chairman of the Project Management Institute in 2016 and is also a co-founder of a global movement – the Brightline Initiative.

He is the author of the "Harvard Business Review Project Management Handbook" and five other books, including best-sellers "The Focused Organization" and “The Project Revolution." His writings extend to articles for the Harvard Business Review, where he explores topics such as project selection and prioritization, writing job descriptions, and the intersection of AI, sustainability, and project management.

Nieto-Rodriguez is currently the Director of the Program Management Office at GlaxoSmithKline Vaccines. Prior to this, he worked as Head of Project Portfolio Management at BNP Paribas Fortis and also led the acquisition of ABN AMRO, the largest in financial service history, as Head of Post-Merger Integration at Fortis Bank. He also worked for ten years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he became the global lead practitioner for project and change management.

Nieto-Rodriguez is a highly sought-after speaker who delivers keynote speeches at international conferences, including the World Economic Forum. He is a visiting lecturer at Duke CE, Skolkovo, IE, Solvay MBA programs, and others. His teachings and coaching skills are aimed at senior executives, honing their understanding of strategy execution and project management. Multilingual, he is fluent in five languages.
