Arthur Levine

Arthur Levine is a scholar, author, and public speaker with significant influence in higher education. He currently serves as a Distinguished Scholar of higher education at New York University, President Emeritus of Teachers College, Columbia University, and President Emeritus of the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. Levine also served as the chair of the higher education program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and president of Bradford College from 1982 to 1989.

Levine has engaged extensively in academic leadership, including his time as president and professor of education at Teachers College, Columbia University. He also served as the Institute for Educational Management chair at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Moreover, he spent time as a Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Foundation and as the founder and first president of the Woodrow Wilson, now High Meadows, Graduate School of Teaching and Learning.

As an academic author, Levine has contributed to the field by publishing 12 books, including "The Great Upheaval: Higher Education’s Past, Present, and Uncertain Future." He has also written numerous articles and reviews and has been featured in esteemed publications such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Politico, the Chronicle of Higher Education, Education Week, and Inside Higher Education. Levine's work and insights have also led to appearances on media programs such as "60 Minutes," "The Today Show," "All Things Considered," "Morning Edition," "Open Mind" and Fox News.

In addition to his extensive academic career, Levine has been recognized with a number of awards, such as 26 honorary degrees and Carnegie, Fulbright, Guggenheim and Rockefeller Foundation Fellowships. His contributions to the field have earned him a place in the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
