Ashley Nicole Black Biography
Ashley Nicole Black was four years into a Ph.D. program at Northwestern University when she decided to drop everything and pursue a career in comedy. It was a risk, but it ended up paying off. She was a writer and correspondent for "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee from 2016 to 2019. She left the show in February 2019 to write and act in "A Black Lady Sketch Show" on HBO, a star-studded program featuring Quinta Brunson, Robin Thede, Issa Rae, Angela Bassett, Lena Waithe, and Laverne Cox.
While working with "Full Frontal," Black received six total Primetime Emmy Award nominations, winning in 2017 for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.
