Austin Wintory

Austin Wintory is convinced that the 21st Century is the single best time to alive as a working composer. At only 26 years old, Austin has scored over 30 feature films (including Oscar contenders and Sundance winners), a dozen video games, hundreds of miscellaneous smaller projects, written concert music for preeminent orchestras, chamber ensembles and soloists, and produced multiple albums and singles. He lives and breaths his dream job and thinks the diverse opportunities offered a composer today illustrates that EVERYONE should be pursuing their dream job.

Austin has spoken his message of unbridled creativity and uncompromising love of life (which he believes must be imbedded in one's career ambitions) at many schools, conferences and special events. He regularly appears at alma matter, Cherry Creek High School, speaking to an average of 800 students per year. In 2011 he has been a featured speaker at the Los Angeles GRAMMY Museum, the Screen Actors Guild musician training program, and Hollywood Music in Media "Real Deal" seminar. In past years he has spoken at the some of the biggest video game industry conferences, including Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco, and the GDC Online conference in Austin, Texas.

Austin's talks tend to be very high energy and funny, featuring film clips (from both his own work and others), audio clips (his music, or examples from the repertoire) and frequently involve overlaps with basic lessons in history (often, but not necessarily, music history or history of video games or history of cinema).
