Avi Issacharoff

Avi Issacharoff, The Times of Israel's Middle East analyst, also serves in the same capacity for Walla, the leading portal in Israel. He offers his expertise as a guest commentator on various radio shows and current affairs programs on television. Until 2012, he was a reporter and commentator on Arab affairs for the Haaretz newspaper.

Issacharoff lectures on modern Palestinian history at Tel Aviv University. He has expanded his professional scope by working on a script for an action-drama series for the Israeli satellite television network "YES." Born in Jerusalem, he completed his undergraduate studies in Middle Eastern studies at Ben Gurion University, graduating cum laude, and subsequently earned his M.A. from Tel Aviv University in the same field, also with honors.

A proficient Arabic speaker, Issacharoff covered the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the war in Iraq, and issues in other Arab countries as the Middle East Affairs correspondent for Israeli Public Radio from 2003 to 2006. Additionally, he directed and edited short documentary films on Israeli television that dealt with Middle Eastern affairs. In 2002, he received the "best reporter" award from "Israel Radio" for his coverage of the second intifada.

Issacharoff has co-authored significant works with Amos Harel, including "The Seventh War - How we won and why we lost the war with the Palestinians," published in 2004. This book earned an award from the Institute for Strategic Studies for the best research on security affairs in Israel a year after its publication. Their collaboration continued with "34 Days - The Story of the Second Lebanon War," released in 2008, which also received the same prestigious recognition.
