Ayman Mohyeldin is an Egyptian-born journalist based in New York, working for NBC News and MS NOW (previously named MSNBC). He is the co-host of "The Weekend: Primetime" and he also fills in as a guest host on other MS NOW programs, continuing his deep coverage of global events, particularly the Middle East, for MS NOW and NBC.
He was the anchor of the MSNBC weekday afternoon show "Ayman Mohyeldin Reports," formerly "MSNBC Live with Ayman Mohyeldin," he hosted the former show, "Ayman" on weekend evenings on MSNBC, where he led in-depth coverage of U.S. politics, foreign affairs, and civil rights issues. Mohyeldin is an experienced international correspondent and has worked for Al Jazeera and CNN.
Mohyeldin was among the first Western journalists permitted to enter and report on the transfer and trial of the deposed President of Iraq Saddam Hussein by the Iraqi Interim Government for crimes against humanity. He has covered the Gaza War and the Arab Spring, and has reported extensively from conflict zones and on the global war on terror throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
