Berit Lewis is the author of "Ageing Upwards", a book that presents a mindfulness-based framework for growing older rather than merely getting older. While most discussions about aging talks about avoiding or concealing the signs of aging, Lewis advocates for a more positive perspective. Aging can be a time of increased happiness, wisdom and contribution. She offers a practical mindful way to embrace the nuanced reality of life. She also assists organizations in addressing unconscious biases and generational stereotyping to retain employees and create diverse, compassionate and thriving workplaces.
Lewis is the CEO of Thriving Life. As well as being an experienced and accredited Mindfulness Teacher, she holds a BA (Honours) in Psychology, a MSc in Vitality and Ageing and a MA in Communication and has carried out research in to mindfulness and ageing at Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC) in the Netherlands. Lewis is Danish and resides in the Netherlands.
