Betsy Myers

Betsy Myers is dedicated to enhancing leadership by developing leaders and teams who infuse passion and purpose into their organizations by leading with both intellect and empathy.

With over three decades of experience, Myers is a recognized expert on contemporary leadership trends and women’s leadership. Her extensive experience spans corporate, government, non-profit, and higher education sectors. She is the author of "Take the Lead: Motivate, Inspire, and Bring Out the Best in Yourself and Everyone Around You," and her recent nationwide book tour has further amplified her influence in the field.

Currently, Myers is a Senior Advisor at the Warren Bennis Leadership Institute at the University of Cincinnati and serves on the Council on Advancing Women in Business for the Export-Import Bank of the United States. Additionally, she serves on the Council of National Advisors of Springboard Enterprises, supporting high-growth women-led businesses seeking venture capital.

Myers has served as a senior advisor to two U.S. Presidents. Under President Clinton, she served as the Advisor on Women’s Issues and was the first Director of the White House Office for Women’s Initiatives and Outreach. In President Obama’s 2008 National Presidential Campaign, Myers significantly contributed as the Chief Operating Officer and later as the Chair of Women for Obama.

Previously, Myers was the founding director of the Center for Women and Business at Bentley University, which serves as a repository of best practices for corporations aiming to recruit and retain women leaders. She was also the Executive Director of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard’s Kennedy School, where she focused on teaching and research surrounding authentic inner leadership. Her roles in the U.S. Small Business Administration included Director of the Office of Women’s Business Ownership, where she advocated for the 9.4 million women entrepreneurs in the United States.

Her education includes a Master's in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School, where she also served as a Public Service Fellow. Currently, Myers continues to speak and lead workshops globally on the evolving nature of leadership, emphasizing the integration of head and heart in management practices.
