Bansal co-founded e-commerce platform Flipkart in 2007 with Sachin Bansal (no relation) and played a pivotal role in scaling it to market leadership in Indian e-commerce, solving many fundamental customer and supply problems along the way. He resigned in 2018. That same year, Walmart acquired a majority stake in Flipkart at a $22 billion valuation.
Bansal was employed by Amazon for nine months before he left to start FlipKart. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi with a degree in computer science and engineering.
