Bob Cabana

Robert D. Cabana, a retired NASA astronaut, boasts an illustrious career in both the United States Marine Corps and NASA. From 2008 to 2021, he served as the 10th Director of the Kennedy Space Center and was later appointed as the Associate Administrator of NASA in May 2021. During his time with NASA, Cabana flew on four Space Shuttle flights and logged over 1,010 hours in space. Furthermore, his experiences as a naval flight officer and naval aviator saw him log over 7,000 hours in 34 different kinds of aircraft, demonstrating his extensive expertise in the field.

Cabana's accomplishments as a space explorer have been recognized by several prestigious associations. He is a member of the Association of Space Explorers and an Associate Fellow in the Society of Experimental Test Pilots. His contributions and service have been honored with numerous awards, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, National Intelligence Medal of Achievement, and numerous NASA-specific honors. His outstanding performance in naval flight training also earned him The Daughters of the American Revolution Award for the top Marine.

Even after his retirement from NASA on December 31, 2023, Cabana's influence in the field of space exploration is indelible. He is featured in the Astronaut Hall of Fame, acknowledging his significant contributions to space travel.
