Bob Segert joined athenahealth in February 2019 after serving as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Virence Health. He is a seasoned leader with a passion for understanding and delivering on the needs of the customer, a relentless commitment to operational excellence, and a track record for driving outstanding results.

Segert has lead athenahealth post the completion of their merger with Virence Health in a take-private transaction led by Veritas Capital and Evergreen Coast Capital. Combined business is now 160,000+ providers strong with market-leading medical record, revenue cycle, patient engagement, care coordination and population health services. athenahealth partners with hospital and ambulatory customers to drive clinical and financial results that make a difference; leveraging the combined insights of their network, deep industry knowledge and technology enabled services at scale.

Segert has over 20 years of leadership experience in the software & IT services industry – spanning across sales, marketing, operations, and corporate strategy. He has served as Executive Chairman of Aspect Software and President and CEO of Expert Global Solutions, where he scaled the company’s global footprint and achieved market-leading positions in customer relationship management and business process outsourcing services.
