Brent Jones has three Super Bowl rings to his credit with the San Francisco 49'ers. After graduating from Santa Clara University, Brent Jones was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers but never donned the black and yellow colors on the field. Instead, he made his NFL debut with the 49ers in a fortuitous pairing of player and team. Together, the 49ers won three Super Bowls while Brent Jones made four trips to the Pro Bowl and was twice selected for All Pro status. Among his career stats are 33 touchdowns, 417 receptions and 5,195 receiving yards.
When his playing career wrapped up in 1997, Brent Jones appearances became no less common as the former 49er began appearing as an analyst on CBS’ The NFL Today program. He held that post until 2004. Today, Brent Jones appearances at San Jose Sharks games might be most common, as the Californian serves on the board of directors for the company that owns the National Hockey League team.
