Bryan Burrough is the author or co-author of eight books, including the New York Times best-sellers "Barbarians at the Gate," "Public Enemies," "The Big Rich" and "Forget the Alamo." After ten years at The Wall Street Journal and twenty-five at Vanity Fair, he now lives in Austin, where he is Editor at Large at Texas Monthly. Last year his Texas Monthly podcast, ``Stephenville,’’ peaked at No. 8 of nationwide downloads. His next book, "The Gunfighters: How Texas Made the West Wild," will be published by Penguin Press in June.
Burrough embarked on his career in journalism after earning his degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 1983. His time at The Wall Street Journal was marked by critical acclaim, as he won the Gerard Loeb Award for excellence in financial journalism three times. These accolades reflect Burrough's dedication to the craft and his skill in reporting complex financial stories. In 1992, Burrough transitioned to Vanity Fair, where he has held the position of correspondent since.
