Bryan Collier

Bryan Collier, an acclaimed American writer and illustrator, is renowned for his contributions to children's literature. His unique approach to illustration, which marries watercolors with collage, has garnered him substantial recognition within his field. He has won six Coretta Scott King Awards and received four Caldecott Honors, a testament to his innovative and impactful work. Notable books under his belt include "I, Too, Am America" by Langston Hughes and "Rosa" by Nikki Giovanni. His own work, "Uptown," further cemented his standing by winning the Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award.

Collier's creative partnerships with authors such as Nikki Grimes and Doreen Rappaport have resulted in culturally powerful children's books.
