He founded Flanagan Training Group after leaving a successful tenure at the Zig Ziglar Corporation in Dallas, Texas. At Zig Ziglar Corporation, he dedicated 20 years to serving various clients across multiple industries, leveraging his vast experience gained from his initial role as a delivery boy at IBM Corporation in Baton Rouge. His career progression at IBM saw him evolve into a salesman, a "people" manager, and a sales instructor at IBM's national training center before making a significant career shift.

Since founding the Flanagan Training Group, Flanagan has focused on designing and delivering training programs that significantly enhance team and individual productivity and growth. His career, post-IBM, has been marked by considerable influence and reach, having interacted with 4,096 groups, traveled 3,330,972 miles, and trained 731,451 people. His deep commitment to the sales profession extends beyond training; he is a respected Sales Ambassador, Sales Educator, Sales Coach, and Presentation Skills Coach.
