Buster Posey

In 2008, the San Francisco Giants selected Buster Posey with the fifth overall selection in the MLB draft. That selection has paid off in a major way. Posey won rookie of the year in 2010, NL MVP in 2012, and, most impressively, has collected three World Series titles. He also has an endorsement deal with sports drink company BodyArmor that includes an equity stake in the company.

He caught every inning of the playoffs as the Giants won the 2010 World Series. In 2011, after he was severely injured in a collision with Scott Cousins at home plate, Posey missed most of the year. He became the second San Francisco Giant to win the NL batting title and was named the 2012 NL Most Valuable Player. He won his second World Series that year, as the Giants swept the Detroit Tigers in four games. He won his third World Series IN 2014 as the Giants defeated the Kansas City Royals. In 2016, he won his first Gold Glove Award.

Posey took the 2020 season off, choosing to stay home for the safety of his newly adopted twin girls. He returned to the field in 2021 and became the first player in franchise history to catch 1,000 games for the Giants. In 2016, Buster and his wife, Kristen, founded BP28, a philanthropic organization that helps raise awareness and treatment funds for pediatric cancer.
