Butch Oxendine

Butch Oxendine is the Executive Director and Founder of the American Student Government Association (ASGA), the nation's professional association for collegiate student governments. With over 40 years of experience in this field, he is a visionary leader and a passionate advocate for student empowerment, who has founded and led multiple organizations and initiatives to support and serve student leaders and advisors across the country.

He is also the Founder and Managing Partner of The SG Consulting Group, a national firm that specializes in helping student governments improve their effectiveness and impact. He leverages his skills in social networking, workshop facilitation, and marketing communications, as well as his expertise in student government training, research, publishing, advertising, sales, and event management, to deliver high-quality services and resources to ASGA's members and clients. He has created 11 training conferences, launched six magazines, and established several awards and scholarships for student leaders. He is a professional trainer and presenter, who speaks frequently at conventions and conferences, including ASGA's 11 events. He has also written three books on student leadership and contributed to several others. His mission is to help student governments advance their causes, enhance their campuses, and empower their members. He is always looking for new ways to innovate and collaborate with other stakeholders in the higher education sector.
