Caterina Scorsone

Caterina Scorsone is a Canadian-American actress best known for her roles in the Lifetime crime drama series "1-800-Missing," ABC’s medical dramas "Private Practice" and "Grey's Anatomy," among other roles. She made her debut as a child actor on the Canadian children's program "Mr. Dressup" and has since appeared in films such as 2010's Edge of Darkness and 2014's The November Man.

Scorsone had her acting breakthrough after landing the leading role in the Lifetime crime drama series "1-800-Missing" from 2003 to 2006. She played the part of Jess Mastriani, a young woman who sees missing persons in visions. In 2010, Scorsone joined the cast of Shonda Rhimes' drama series "Private Practice" in the recurring role of Amelia Shepherd, the sister of Derek Shepherd from Grey's Anatomy. Later, Scorsone was also cast in Grey's Anatomy's spin-off, "Station 19." In March 2014, Scorsone returned to "Grey's Anatomy" after a three-year absence as a recurring guest star. In June of the same year, it was announced that she was promoted to series regular status for the show's 11th season.

Off the screen, Scorsone is an outspoken advocate for children with Down Syndrome and other cognitive disabilities. She has three daughters, one of whom has Down Syndrome. This personal experience has amplified her role as an advocate, leading to her receiving the Quincy Jones Exceptional Advocacy Award from the Global Down Syndrome Foundation in 2020 for her efforts. Caterina Scorsone also served as a military chaplain, reflecting her dedication and willingness to serve the community.
