Charles Nagy

Charles Nagy, a former Major League Baseball All-Star right-handed pitcher, has a distinguished career in both playing and coaching. He played for the Cleveland Indians and San Diego Padres, making significant contributions to the field. As a testament to his skill and dedication, Nagy was selected as a three-time All-Star in 1992, 1996, and 1999. His exceptional performance led him to be inducted into the Cleveland Guardians Hall of Fame and the Kinston Professional Baseball Hall of Fame in 2004. Adding to his accomplishments, Nagy was part of the Team USA Baseball that participated in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, making 19 appearances and securing a team-leading six saves, making him an Olympic Gold Medalist.

In addition to his playing career, Nagy has also made a name for himself as a successful coach. He began his coaching journey in 2009 as the pitching coach for the Columbus Clippers, the Cleveland Indians' AAA team. The following year, he was appointed as the pitching coach of the Arizona Diamondbacks, a role he held until 2013. Notably, his coaching career extended to the Los Angeles Angels, where he acted as the pitching coach from 2016 to 2018.

Following his retirement from coaching in 2018, Nagy continued to contribute to the baseball industry. Since February 2015, he has been serving as a Special Assistant to Player Development for the Cleveland Indians.
