As a key influencer in the Black Wall Street movement, Amusan previously served as an Advisor to the Black Wall Street Chamber of Commerce and is the founder of the Black Wall Street Memorial March which has been active for almost 3 decades serving its mission to preserve the history of Greenwood. He is the Owner of The Real Black Wall Street Tour Company.
Chief Amusan is a board member at the Center of Public Secrets, and a member of the Tulsa Remembrance Coalition, working in Partnership with Bryan Stephenson and the Equal Justice Initiative Soil Collection Project.
Chief served as an adviser for the Preserve Route 66 Advisory Council helping to preserve black history on the American highway. He is a film consultant and Co-Executive Producer of the documentary “Oaklawn” that unveils the truth behind the 1921 Mass Graves investigation in Tulsa.
He is featured in the Emmy Award winning documentary "Dreamland: The Burning of Black Wall Street," "Planet money," and many others. Amusan is the President of the African Ancestral Society. The Society has a social justice arm that works closely with the Terence Crutcher Foundation, Human Rights Watch, American Civil Liberties Union and the Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
Chief Amusan is the author of the book "America’s Black Wall Street. The untold story of Broken Treaties, Black Resistance, Political Fear, and Sacred Ground."
