Chris Albrecht

Chris Albrecht is a prominent media executive known for his influential role in shaping the modern television landscape. Now the co-founder of Rubicon Global Media, his career in the entertainment industry spans several decades.

and was previously CEO and President of Starz chairman and prior to that, Chairman and CEO of HBO. He spent 22 years at HBO and was credited for ushering in the Golden Age of Television with hit series such as “The Sopranos,” “Sex and the City,” “Deadwood,” “Six Feet Under,” “Entourage,” “Band of Brothers” and “The Wire.”

Albrecht began his career as a talent agent at International Creative Management. In 1985, he joined HBO as an original programming executive, a move that marked the beginning of a transformative era for the network. He quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming Chairman and CEO. He spent 22 years at HBO and under his leadership, the cable network launched some of its most iconic and critically acclaimed series, including "The Sopranos," "Sex and the City," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Deadwood," "Entourage," "Band of Brothers," "The Wire," and "Six Feet Under." These shows not only garnered numerous awards but also set new standards for television storytelling, helping HBO become synonymous with high-quality, groundbreaking content.

After Albrecht's departure from HBO, he took on the role of President and CEO of IMG Global Media and became a special limited partner in the private equity firm Forstmann Little & Company. He also founded Foresee Entertainment, an independent content creation, development and distribution company, before joining Starz. As CEO of Starz, he continued his legacy of championing original programming, growing the network's subscriber base and guiding its acquisition by Lionsgate. Following Starz but prior to Rubicon, Albrecht was Managing Director of Legendary Television.

Throughout his career, Albrecht has been recognized for his innovative approach to content creation and his ability to identify and nurture talent. His contributions to the television industry have had a lasting impact, influencing how audiences consume and engage with TV content.
