Chris Kuryak

Chris Kuryak is the treasurer and a board member of Supporting Resilient Communities, Inc., an organization dedicated to providing aid to those affected by natural or civil disasters through the use of proven state-of-the-art technology and a network of disaster experts and volunteers. As the former Chief Operating Officer of Recovers, Kuryak helped organize both large and small scale community-level relief for disasters including Superstorm Sandy, the Moore tornadoes and the Boles Fire. Kuryak speaks on the organization's efforts to promote preparedness, resilience and sustainability and the most up to date scientific research on natural hazards and climate risks.

Kuryak was also the Program Manager of Enterprise Competitive Analysis at Dell EMC, where he created and transformed their competitive analysis division, saving the company millions of dollars annually. As the former Chief Operating Officer of Sirocco, Chris helped grow Recovers into a well-known, government-recognized disaster relief tool. He has helped organize both large and small scale community-level relief for disasters including Superstorm Sandy, the Moore tornadoes, and the Boles Fire.

He holds a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, where he performed clean energy research. He has an affinity for doing back-of-the-envelope calculations in everyday life.
