Chris Powell

Chris Powell is a personal trainer, author, and reality show personality best known as the trainer and transformation specialist on ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition," which debuted as the number-one TV show in May 2011 and hosted the series from 2011 to 2015.

Throughout the series, Powell traveled the country in a documentary-style series, where he used his innovative techniques, education, and expertise to guide extremely overweight individuals as they shed hundreds of pounds over the course of a year. He also made significant appearances on shows like "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "20/20," and "The View."

Adding to his list of ventures, Powell is the author of two books: "Choose to Lose: The 7-Day Carb Cycle Solution," released in 2011, and "Chris Powell's Choose More, Lose More for Life," released in 2013. His debut book soared to the top of the New York Times Best Seller list. His books provide motivation, nutrition, exercise tips, and tricks to assist anyone in their weight loss journey.

Powell not only holds a degree in Exercise Science, with concentrations in biomechanics and physiology and the training accreditation: The Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), but also co-founded the web-based weight-loss program ReshapeTheNation.com in 2008. He has regularly contributed to "Good Morning America" and has been the Transformation Pro on KTVK's "Good Morning Arizona" for the last eight years, delivering tips, shortcuts, and tricks of the trade to the largest news viewing audience in Arizona.

One of Powell's most notable contributions was his appearance in the TLC documentary "650-Pound Virgin" as the trainer to David Elmore Smith, resulting in the largest and fastest natural weight loss ever documented. Powell's dedication to transforming the life of David Smith, who lost 401 lbs in 26 months, captivated audiences nationwide.
