Clyde Fessler

Clyde Fessler, a retired Vice President of Business Development for Harley-Davidson Motor Company, is widely recognized for his strategic role in the company’s turnaround. Over his 24 years at Harley-Davidson, Fessler was instrumental in rejuvenating a brand on the verge of bankruptcy, transforming it into one of the most recognized names globally and a top performer on the New York Stock Exchange.

During his tenure at Harley-Davidson, he held various pivotal management roles including Director of Marketing, General Sales Manager, Vice President of General Merchandise, Vice President of Parts and Accessories, Vice President/Managing Director of Europe, and ultimately Vice President of Business Development. His visionary strategies led to the brand being inducted into the Marketing Hall of Fame. One of his significant achievements was establishing the Harley Owners Group, which has grown into the world's largest enthusiast club with over 500,000 members, enhancing customer loyalty and community engagement.

Now active as a consultant and motivational speaker, Fessler continues to share his expertise in business development and branding. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the American Motorcycle Association and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Maintaining a strong commitment to philanthropy, he has been a key liaison in fostering the relationship between Harley-Davidson and the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which has raised over $31 million since 1981. Fessler, a University of Notre Dame alumnus, fulfills his passion for motorcycles by exploring the world on one of his five Harley-Davidson motorcycles, continuing to live a life fueled by adventure and strategic thinking.
