Colin Mochrie

Colin Mochrie first appeared on "Whose Line is it Anyway?," the British version, in 1991. He first auditioned for the show in 1990 in Toronto but didn't make the cut; later in the year, he tried again in Los Angeles and was successful this time. His role on the American "Whose Line" solidified Mochrie as a prominent figure in improvisational comedy. He currently stars in the reboot of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" on The CW, which premiered in July 2013.

In addition to his work on "Whose Line Is It Anyway?", Mochrie has a diverse portfolio in television and film. He appears in "Blackfly" on Global TV in Canada and "This Hour Has 22 Minutes," a Canadian news spoof show. His voice acting contributions include roles in animated series like "George and Martha" for HBO and "Seven Little Monsters" on PBS.

Mochrie's contributions to the arts have been recognized with several awards, including the Gemini Award for Best Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Program or Series and the Barbara Hamilton Memorial Award for Lifetime Achievement in Theatre and Advocacy from the Dora Mavor Moore Awards. He also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Actra Awards. Recently, Mochrie and his wife Debra McGrath released a motion picture titled "Turnbuckle," showcasing their collaborative skills in both writing and production. He continues to perform live, frequently collaborating with fellow improviser Brad Sherwood.
