Courtney Platt Biography
Courtney Platt began her professional dance career as a NY Knicks City Dancer. She was a Top Four finalist and returning All-Star on "So You Think You Can Dance." She has experience as a choreographer, choreographing performances such as "Grease Live!" on FOX and "HAIR" at the Hollywood Bowl. She has danced for artists such as Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Jennifer Lopez.
Her TV credits include "Glee," "Shake It Up," "Ellen," "Big Time Rush," and "SNL." She has performed at the American Music Awards, the Latin Grammys, and The Kid's Choice Awards.
Platt was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2012. Once she coped with her new normal, she knew she wanted to do something to help the cause, so she started The Beat Dance Convention and The Beat Dance Walk. Proceeds from both events raised money for MS research through the MS Society. Along with her brother-in-law, actor Ben Platt, she is a consultant for the Bristol Myers Squibb music therapy campaign MS in Harmony, the first and only digital offering of its kind which guides people living with multiple sclerosis on how they may achieve mind-body harmony through music therapy.
