Craig Gillespie

Craig Gillespie, an Australian-American director, has a multifaceted career spanning film, television, music videos, and commercials. Gillespie began his journey in the creative world as an intern at J. Walter Thompson, an ad agency, where he gradually climbed the ranks to become a commercial director. Throughout his career, he has directed commercials for major brands, including 7-Eleven, Acura, Altoids, Ameriquest, Audi, Bud Light, Call of Duty, CareerBuilder, Cars.com, CDW/Cisco, Citi, Consumers Energy, DirecTV, Dunkin' Donuts, and more. His directorial skills in the advertising realm earned him a Golden Lion Award at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

Transitioning into the realm of moving pictures, Gillespie's work has spanned a range of genres, from the critically acclaimed film Lars and the Real Girl in 2007 to the horror-comedy movie Fright Night in 2011. He also ventured into television, directing several episodes of the series "The United States of Tara." His ability to tell compelling stories through the lens was further emphasized with the biographical film I, Tonya in 2017, which portrayed the life of figure skater Tonya Harding. Gillespie's recent work includes the live-action spin-off of One Hundred and One Dalmatians, titled Cruella in 2021, which starred Emma Stone. Continuing his cinematic journey, he is set to direct a sequel to Cruella and release a film adaptation of Ben Mezrich's book "The Antisocial Network," titled Dumb Money in 2023.
