Crystal Dunn

Crystal Dunn is a professional soccer player for the NJ/NY Gotham FC and the U.S. Women's National Team. She has had a prolific career in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's professional soccer in the United States, with appearances for several clubs, including the Washington Spirit, North Carolina Courage, Portland Thorns FC, and NJ/NY Gotham FC.

Her collegiate career spanned from 2010 to 2013 with the North Carolina Tar Heels, where she won the 2012 Hermann Trophy and led the team to an NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. Post her collegiate career, as a top pick in the 2014 NWSL College Draft, she joined the Washington Spirit. In 2015, Dunn earned the NWSL Most Valuable Player and Golden Boot awards, becoming the youngest player to clinch both awards at the age of 23.

Dunn's international career has been equally impressive, with over 155 appearances for the United States national team. She was instrumental in the United States' victory at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. In addition to her World Cup success, Dunn was part of the team that secured a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, following a bronze in the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Dedicated to creating an inclusive environment in the sport, Dunn founded the NWSL's Black Women's Player Collective in 2020. The collective provides a platform for Black women in the NWSL to discuss their experiences and has been involved in initiatives such as voter education and highlighting the pay disparities in soccer.

Following her return to professional soccer less than four months after her first pregnancy, Dunn continued to demonstrate her exceptional skill on the field, scoring a game-winning goal in the 93rd minute of a semifinal match. Known for her versatility, she has played a variety of positions, including forward, midfield, and defense. Off the field, Dunn has been featured in Self Magazine and the docu-series "Keeping Score."
